IC-R6

Wideband Receiver.

Price $299.00

0.100–1309.995MHz* wideband receiverIC-R6_small

The IC-R6 expands the minimum frequency coverage from 100kHz. Amateur stations, AM, FM,

short wave broadcasts, TV audio* and a variety of utility communications can be listened to.

* Depending on version. Analog TV audio only. Cannot decode digital TV audio.

100 channels per second high speed scan

The IC-R6 has a 100 channels per second high speed scan capability in VFO mode. This superior

scanning power allows the utmost efficiency when searching over 1300MHz of spectrum!

• Full scan • Band scan • Programmed scan • Auto memory write scan

• Memory scan • Priority scan • Bank scan • Skip scan

• Tone scan • Link scan

15 hours* of continuous receive capability

The IC-R6 has an efficient low current consumption design for long operation. With the supplied

rechargeable Ni-MH cells, the IC-R6 provides up to 15 hours of continuous receive*.

* 50mW output with external speaker (8?).

1300 memory channels, 22 memory banks with a 6-character comment

The IC-R6 has 1300 memory channels, 50 band scan edges and 200 auto memory write channels.

The regular 1300 channels can be divided into 22 memory banks (Max. 100 channels per bank)

and the bank link scan allows you to pick up and choose the desired memory banks. Each regular

channel, scan edge and memory bank can be named with a 6-character alphanumeric comment.

150mW loud audio

The IC-R6 uses a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier that doubles the audio output. The 36mm large

speaker delivers 150mW* of loud audio for noisy environments such as in a vehicle.

* Using internal speaker.

Optional drop-in charger stand, BC-194

The optional charger stand, BC-194 charges the Ni-MH rechargeable cells easily and eliminates

the need to connect and disconnect an AC adapter to the DC power jack of the receiver.

VSC (Voice squelch control)

The VSC (Voice squelch control) opens the squelch only when a modulated signal is detected and

ignores unmodulated, beat noise signals.

Other new features

  • Earphone cord antenna for AM aviation as well as FM broadcasts
  • ±1.0ppm high frequency stability
  • Built-in audio low pass filter suppresses high pitch audio and reduces noise.
  • Optional CT-17, CI-V level converter for PC remote ontrol
  • Optional new tube earphone, SP-27

External DC power jack

The IC-R6 has an external DC power jack for operation with the AC adapter, BC-196SA/SE or cigarette

lighter cable, CP-18A/E. The Ni-MH batteries are charged simultaneously during operation.

4.5V (4.5–6.3V DC) DC is acceptable.

Compact, drip-resistant construction

The IC-R6 has an ultra compact body measuring only 58(W)×86(H)×29.8(D)mm and weighing just

200g*. It easily fits in your palm or shirt pocket and the drip resistant construction is an added comfort

for outdoor usage.

* 29?32×33?8×13?16 in, 7.1oz (approx.)

Built-in ferrite bar antenna for AM

A built-in ferrite bar antenna clearly catches AM broadcast stations with good sensitivity. This

allows you to listen to AM broadcast stations eliminating the need to connect an external antenna.

CTCSS and DTCS tone squelch

The CTCSS and DTCS tones provide quiet stand-by while waiting for a matched tone signal. This

is convenient for monitoring a specified repeater, station etc. Tone scan detects a tone frequency

used in a channel. The pocket beep function alerts you with a beep sound when a matched tone

signal is received.

PC programming capability

With the optional cloning software, CS-R6, memory contents such as frequencies, channel name,

category, group name, set mode items, etc, can be programmed easily.

Other features

  • Priority watch function with beep sound
  • Auto power OFF timer (30 minutes– 2 hours and end of busy signal)
  • Auto squelch and squelch monitor functionBuilt-in 10dB (approx.) attenuator
  • Power save function
  • Duplex operation
  • Automatic LCD backlight for easier night time operation
  • Dial speed acceleration
